Happy Saturday Everyone!
A world-traveling exhibition featuring more than 100 striking black-and-white photographs he took of various “friends,” ranging from Sarah Jessica Parker to Kanye West to Yoko Ono, is making a one-week stop in New York beginning Friday June 8th, at the Swiss Institute downtown on Wooster Street.
The exhibition, titled “The Little Black Jacket,” is based on a Steidl book of the same name—and the same photos—scheduled for release this autumn. The title refers to Chanel’s iconic black tweed jacket and Mr. Lagerfeld, in collaboration with former longtime French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld, reimagined ways (120 of them) the jacket could be worn and interpreted. A party celebrating the opening took place Wednesday night.
