Winter Cozy

Hello madison buddies!  Are you Looking forward to a comfy weekend?   It's snowy and cold and fine time for hibernation!
Speaking about hibernation, have you met Betty and Veronica the two grizzly bears in central park?  They have arrived and
will be interesting to see how they enjoy hibernating in NYC!!
I'm feeling pretty happy to be inside for the weekend and gathered some serene bedrooms  with layers of knits and cotton for inspiration. Check them out!

May take a visit to the park to welcome Betty and Veronica!

Happy Weekend!

Flat Stomach Foods

Hello my friends! January of 2015, here so fast!  It's that time  we should discuss diet! Ouch! Need more motivation to get with a program?  Sometimes visuals help!  Here is a link of foods to eat while on you way to skinny!

starts today 2PM

Below is List of Foods to stay away from while dieting!

Candy and other sweets offer nothing but calories, and plenty of them. According to Harvard nutritionist Walter Willett, if you want to lose belly fat, the first thing you should eliminate are high-calorie, low-value foods. At 150 empty calories per can, soda pop is a particularly bad form of sweet for diet purposes. For many people, drinking soda is an automatic part of lunch or dinner. By simply replacing this with water or iced tea, you can drop hundreds of calories per week from your diet.

A single fast-food meal often totals more than 2,000 calories, the recommended calorie intake for an entire day. Worse still, fast food is high in bad fats and low in nutrition.
Alcoholic Drink can reduce your risk of heart disease.  However it presents problems. Like sweets, it has a high caloric content with little nutritional benefit.  A single night out can mean taking in thousand of calories!

10 Foods to Avoid for a Flat Belly

Dairy, although a good source of calcium, is also rich in carbohydrates and bad fats. While shedding your belly fat, it's better to get your calcium from leafy green vegetables and other low-calorie options.

Refined Grains

Refined grains such as white bread give your body a sugar rush just like sweets.
Refined grains are pure carbohydrates, presenting your body with a sugar rush just like eating sweets. The calories from this rush are bad enough, but when the sugar high fades your body starts to feel hungry again. Dr. Mehmet Oz, co-author of "You: The Owner's Manual" recommends eating whole and wild grains, which release their carbs more slowly.

Fruit Juice

Fruit juice is subtle. It can contain many important nutrients, but it's often high in sugar. Morning juice is OK, don't make fruit juice your default beverage.

Snack Foods

Trail mix is very high in calories.
Snack foods such as chips, trail mix and pretzels are all right in moderation. However, like sweets, they are long on calories and low on nutritional value. For between-meal snacks, personal trainer Bill Phillips recommends vegetable sticks or a piece of fruit.

Shearling Style

Hello my friends! Holiday week has been busy with entertaining,
meet ups with old friends and business luncheons. When running out on these cold days and nights, I  love the feel of a warm shearling. I received a shearling jacket some time ago.
And amazingly it held up to the test of time!  Some jackets are reversible, so the suede can be worn on the inside as well!

Shearling coats are made from processed lambskinsheepskin, or pelt. This "shearing" process creates a uniform depth of the wool fibers for a uniform feel and look. Shearling coats and garments are made from pelts by tanning them with the wool of uniform depth still on them. The result is a soft, natural fleece material that is lightweight and extremely comfortable. Shearling coats often contain insulated lining and are lightweight, warm, and stylish. The lighter the Shearling is, the higher quality it is considered to be.

“My idea of Christmas, whether old-fashioned or modern, is very simple: loving others.
Come to think of it, why do we have to wait for Christmas to do that?”

Holiday Gift Ideas 2014

Cheer Up  My loves, It's holiday season! Make life easy! Choosing your holiday gift list and buying gifts
on-line is  a life saver! Many shops offer free shipping and it  saves on travel and stressful crowds and parking at the malls.
Gift cards attached to a bottles of wine, or favorite bakery goodies are great for business gifts. Walk to  your local vendors for flowers, baked goods and wines!

Wrapping can be personalized. I like to stay with a theme.  Rough brown paper and white ribbon. Plaid papers.  All white paper with a color ribbon. For  small gifts I print my own paper.  My friend has blueprint  architectural paper. Creative personalization is up to you!  It's the thought that counts!

Here is a list of ideas,  click on the photo  or  store name and it brings you to the web site. Check back for additions to the list!
Something I've been giving or years are   is pens  or rollerballs (I love to buy silver or black in either cross or another fine brand.
Mont Blanc is pricey! I found after many years my sons, relatives and friends  say they saved them or still use the pens. Another favorite is to send a Cheese cake from cheese factory web site! It's great for long distance dinner gifts to relatives.

Pottery Barn. Love the wine covers. And when there soft knitted throws go on sale I buy lots of them.
West Elm  is another store that always has amazing gift books and throws that are perfect. Neiman Marcus date journals and gift department is high on my list.
Williams Sonoma is full of holiday gadgets. That is one store I love to visit and actually touch everything. On line now is 15% Discount.
Blue Tooth speakers are another great gift and not too expensive.
Try Best Buy for the sparkers and also exercise tracking bands from fit bit or jaw bones.

Love to give new gadgets for the iPads and cell phones .   Little leather holders and travel items make smart gifts as well. Tumi has a classic selection of leather goods. As well as Coach

Local Flower and Gift shops have awesome Christmas or holiday trimmings and festive gifts. They ship anywhere!

HSN is the TV web site that has hundreds of
