Artist De Kooning at Home

Restful Weekend Magic . Fashion week is come to a close and today we take a breather, the focus is on Willem De Kooning, great  artist of this century, displaying his art work at MOMA in NYC.

In the early 1960s Abstract Expressionist Willem de Kooning and his wife, Elaine, also an artist, decided to move to East Hampton, New York, where they had on occasion been weekend guests of Jackson Pollock. Near an unfinished painting in the studio, Elaine and Willem De Kooning relax in rocking chairs.

De Koonig, is considered to be among the most important and prolific artists of the 20th century. The exhibition, which will only be seen at MOMA, presents an unparalleled opportunity to study the artist’s development over nearly seven decades, beginning with his early academic works, made in Holland before he moved to the United States in 1926.
