Over the last few years, designer, Peter Copping has turned Ricci into quite the fashion head turner, conjuring up a striking contrast between the label’s fragile, lingerie-inflected delicacy, and its strength as a powerhouse brand that has women the world over snapping up its wispy, gossamer frothiness—frothiness, incidentally, that Copping designed to be worn together in gloriously pretty mismatched ways.
Peter Copping worked at Louis Vuitton under Marc Jacobs before being made art director in 2009. He grew up with an obsession for Karl Lagerfeld while he was still at Chloe with Katherine Hamnett because of the way she treated cheap fabrics designing garments that looked very expensive.
