The Flower Shop in Paris

Thursday,  February 28th!    Feeling Spring and found this article in Vogue, wanted to share! My good friend owns a lovely flower shop called Delford!  I thought of her and wanted to bring this story of  designer Rambert Rigaud from Paris who turned his dream into a reality!  Thank You Vogue for today's post

“I’ve always wanted to be a florist,” says Rambert Rigaud, a former studio director in the ateliers of Yves Saint Laurent and Dior Haute Couture. Having grown up in Versailles, Rigaud played in the palace garden as a child. But when he turned 40 recently, he says, “I thought, It’s now or never.”

Thankfully, he opted for the former. Rambert Rigaud Fleuriste en Herbe, his new flower-and-home shop on a charming Saint-Germain corner in Paris, embodies a kind of eclectic, regal opulence. Rigaud has expertly tracked down not just exquisite orchids and winter roses but ornate glass vases by Guaxs, needlepoint sofas from the Belgian husband-and-wife team Du Long et du LĂ©, and a selection of vintage furniture culled from local markets.
It’s a carefully curated arrangement intended to feel as welcoming as it is decadent. “Instead of opening just another flower store, I thought about what I would like as a customer,” says Rigaud, who often entertains at the apartment he shares with partner Peter Copping, creative director of Nina Ricci. “Why not mix in antiques and have some music on in the background, so it’s more like a home?”
