Paper Cut Art Work (Artists Amy Flurry and Nikki Salt) These are the "Paper-Cut-Projects" by Amy Flurry and Nikki Salt, a cross between art and fashion. The latest project that carries the "Paper Cut" signature consists of a series of wigs inspired by Marie Antoinette, exposed during the Christmas season in the windows of Toronto's Hudson Bay Company, the luxury flagship The collection of the creative duo, based in Atlanta, have always stood out for their extravagant shapes and glamorous inspirations, and the hand craftsmanship with the use of cardboard, clue, paper cutters...and lots of inspiration. Their first installation made its debut in January 2010 in the Jeffrey boutique in New York and Atlanta, and in April Hermès asked the duo to create 30 pieces for the opening of their new boutique in Asia. The common theme was, of course, equitation, the heritage of the French luxury label. Flurry and Salt interpreted the idea with suggestive, sophisticated and elegant masks-sculptures. |
