Ash Wednesday

 ( The Sign the of cross is placed with ashes on the forehead) Ash Wednesday is a Christian Tradition. The cross of ashes symbolizes mourning and repentence. "Remember that thou art dust, and to dust thou shalt return"   The ashes are gathered from burnt palm from the previous year. It is also the first day of Lent and lasts usually 46 days before Easter Sunday.
